More than 17% of the Irish population was born outside the Republic, and a new book examines how immigration has changed our society over the centuries. Bryan Fanning, Professor of Migration and Social Policy at UCD, is the author of Diverse Republic. He joined Matt to talk about Irish migration since the Middle Ages as well as the emergence of anti-immigrant far-right groups in Ireland.
