How Will Airport COVID-19 Testing Work?

The government has introduced new travel rules for 'red list' European countries, which will come into effect later this month. People travelling to Ireland from these countries will have to isolate for at least five days before taking a COVID-19 test. If their test result is negative, they will then be free to move around rather than isolate for two weeks. Cork and Shannon airports will have drive-thru testing facilities operational from tomorrow, with Dublin Airport to follow. Other Irish airports have also outlined their intentions to put testing in place. Thomas Byrne, Minister of State for European Affairs, and Pól Ó Conghaile, travel journalist with the Irish Independent, joined us to discuss how this will all work.
