How To Cope With Anxiety Attacks

Panic attacks are a physiological response to severe stress and anxiety. They can be scary to experience, but they are ultimately harmless. Anxiety in itself isn't inherently bad, but it becomes a problem when it is so strong and prolonged that it interferes with performance. Signs of anxiety include sleep disturbance, headaches, digestive issues, nervousness and irritability and feeling overwhelmed. Dr Brian Higgins, GP at Galway Primary Care, joined us for The Last Word on Health to discuss how to manage anxiety.
