Donald Trump made a major historical blunder in his Independence Day speech when he stated that American forces "took over the airports" during the US War of Independence in the late 18th century. Do incidents such as these highlight a general lack of understanding of history? In our Monday debate, we asked whether history should be a compulsory subject for the Junior Cert.
