Hidden Histories: The Relics of St Valentine

Today, the 14th of February is Saint Valentine’s Day. But did you know that some of his remains are right here in Ireland with his relics housed in the Whitefriar Street Church in Dublin City Centre. Born circa 226 AD in the Roman Empire, it’s a bit of a mystery how this Christian martyr came to be synonymous with love but even still, the romantic links to the celebration of his feast day go back surprisingly far.
