‘He’s Our Mick’: Local Community Rally Around Cork Family

The day before Mick Cronin turned 52, he went to work as normal but that day changed his life forever. In November 2021, Mick, a construction foreman, suffered a catastrophic fall and is now paralysed from the shoulders down.  [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2022/04/13122647/RyanMcCarthy_1304.mp3"][/audio] The Corkman is currently in the National Rehabilitation Centre in Dublin but hopes to come home to his wife Karen and children Seán and Ailbhe in the not do distant future. For Mick and his family, their local community have been a pillar of support in terms of fundraising and helping them navigate the last few difficult months. Mick’s brother in law, Ryan McCarthy joined Dermot and Dave to chat #MatchesforMick and their big golf event coming up in May. You can catch the chat by clicking play above and to find out more about Mick’s story, head to their Facebook page.
