Healthcare workers call for mandatory masks and the return of working from home

Masks on public transport and in shops and working from home should be made compulsory again. That’s the call being made today by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation and the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine who say the moves are needed to counteract the covid surge in hospitals. The calls come on the day that the emergency powers used for Covid restrictions are due to expire.
