Government To Open Air Bridges With Countries Who Have Virus Under Control

The Government is expected to announce the opening of "air bridges" between Ireland and other countries which have succeeded in bringing COVID-19 under control. This would allow the two-week quarantine period for incoming travellers from such areas to be lifted, and would allow Irish tourists to travel to certain destinations. Face masks are also set to become mandatory on public transport, with the Government moving to increase capacity on bus, train and Luas services. Dr Tomás Ryan, Associate Professor in the School of Biochemistry and Immunology at Trinity College, and Paul O’Kane, chief communications officer at the DAA, joined us to discuss this.
