Taoiseach Micheál Martin is facing criticism from fellow Fianna Fáil TDs over his apparent lack of leadership. In a parliamentary party meeting, he was urged to stop conducting joint press conferences with Leo Varadkar and to end the daily COVID-19 briefings as they were scaring the public. He was also told that ministers should take the lead on informing the public about the latest guidelines. Daniel McConnell, political editor of the Irish Examiner, and Gary Murphy, Professor of Politics in the School of Law and Government at DCU, joined us to discuss the dissatisfaction in the ranks.
