Fewer than 40% of Irish people believe things will go back to normal after COVID-19 despite the recent vaccine announcements. According to a CSO survey, fewer than 7% of people believe life will return to normal in the next six months, with a third believing it will happen in the next year. Close to half of all people think it will take between one and two years, while the remainder think it will either take longer than two years, or will never happen. Is it a sign that we are realistic or pessimistic in our approach? Dr Vincent McDarby, psychologist and member of the Psychological Society of Ireland, and Ida Milne, lecturer in European History at Carlow College, joined us to discuss these findings.
