Should farmers have prenups to protect their assets?

Prenuptial agreements are legal in Ireland but not enforceable. Polls in recent years suggest the majority of farmers would like to see beefed-up laws, giving more legal weight to pre-marital contracts. A worst-case-scenario could see a family farm, built up over generations, sold as part of a divorce settlement. But is there any need for them if we have sufficient property laws and succession entitlements? Newstalk reporter, Aideen Finnegan, speaks to family law solicitor Deirdre Burke.
