Dublin City council rejects developer deal that would have seen 850 homes built in the city

Plans to build over 850 homes in Dublin City have collapsed after councillors voted against a deal with developer Glenveagh Homes. A labour motion that the Santry site on Oscar Traynor Road should be developed directly by council for public housing was passed by councillors. Alison Gilliland, Labour Party Dublin City Cllr for Artane-Whitehall & chairperson for the strategic policy committee on housing for Dublin City Councillor was behind the motion and joined Ciara and Shane on the show.
