Diplomatic Row Between Britain And United States Continues To Escalate
Britain and the United States have become embroiled in a diplomatic row over the British Ambassador Sir Kim Darroch, who has been critical of Donald Trump.
Darroch branded the Trump administration "inept" and "dysfunctional" in memos which were leaked by a Sunday newspaper, leading to a hostile response from Trump on Twitter.
As well as labelling Darroch a "wacky ambassador" and "a very stupid guy", he also hit out at Theresa May's "foolish" way of dealing with Brexit.
...handled. I told @theresa_may how to do that deal, but she went her own foolish way-was unable to get it done. A disaster! I don’t know the Ambassador but have been told he is a pompous fool. Tell him the USA now has the best Economy & Military anywhere in the World, by far...
