'Designer Babies': Are We Closer Than We Thought?

We are less than two years away from creating ‘designer babies’, according to a new research. The findings published by Kevin Smith, from Abertay University in Dundee, reveal that the risks of gene editing are low enough to warrant its use with human embryos - and arguing an ‘ethically sound’ attempt could be as close as less than two years from now. David Quinn, Columnist at the Sunday Times and Director of the Iona Institute, joined us to discuss this further.
