Donald Trump's impeachment trial has continued today, following a dramatic day yesterday in which Democrats used never before seen footage to argue that the former president was responsible for the Capitol attack in January. Trump's tweets leading up to the attack were shown, while senators also saw video footage of rioters that was captured on security cameras. Evidence that the rioters intended to kill or hurt Vice President Mike Pence and House speaker Nancy Pelosi was presented, and the prosecution emphasised the role racism played in the riot and in the months leading up to it.
