The Dangers Of Sunburn And How To Avoid It

As we spend more time outdoors this summer, experts are warning of the importance of protecting our skin. According to a new report from NUI Galway and the Institute of Public Health, 90% of young people aged 10-17 have experienced sunburn in their lifetime, while almost three quarters said they had experienced sunburn at least once in the past year. Dr Doireann O'Leary, health blogger and GP with MyCorkGP, joined us for our weekly medical slot to explain what sunburn is and how to avoid it, the difference between UVA and UVB rays and how to recognise the signs of skin cancer.
