Cork Fire Brigade seek Gardai Protection

A unit from Cork City’s Fire Brigade came under attack on Monday night while they attended the scene of a small rubbish fire at the entrance to the Spring Lane halting site — adjacent to a former illegal dump at Ellis’s Yard. One fireman was hospitalised with injuries which has led for calls for Gardai to now protect Cork fire fighters. Noreen Murphy, local resident and community activist, joined us earlier on Breakfast
