In our Monday debate, we discussed the future of Direct Provision in Ireland and how to make the system fit for purpose.
There are just over 6,000 people living in 38 Direct Provision centres around Ireland, and a further 1,500 living in emergency accommodation such as hotels and B&Bs.
We were joined by Ellie Kisyombe, who is currently living in Direct Provision, Adrian Shanagher, owner of the Grand Hotel Direct Provision centre in Wicklow, Conal Thomas, reporter with thejournal.ie, and Fiona Hurley from the immigrant support network Nasc.
