Calls For Kids Under Six To Wear Face Masks At School

Some students have returned to school today after an almost six-month absence due to COVID-19. Health officials have recommended that children with a temperature or cough should stay home from school, but should attend if they are sniffling or sneezing. But unions are calling for the government to address the health and safety concerns of teachers, and to review the HPSC guidance on children wearing face coverings, as the World Health Organization is now recommending them for children aged six and older. Kieran Christie, General Secretary of the ASTI, and John Boyle, General Secretary of the INTO, joined us to express their concerns on these issues.
