Brother Of Cyclist Killed In Dublin Wants To Make Our Roads Safer

The brother of a road traffic victim is aiming to raise awareness of the dangers cyclists face on our roads. Neil Fox of the Irish Road Victims Association has organised a cycling vulnerability event, which will take place on 3 October at Buswells Hotel in Dublin. Neil's sister Donna was killed three years ago in Dublin when she was hit by a delivery lorry while cycling to work. Neil says that four cyclists a day are hospitalised in Ireland, and that the organisation's goal is to make the roads safer for people rather than blaming anyone. "We're going to get nowhere by blaming motorists and having this sort of vendetta." He joined us on The Last Word to talk about why there needs to be more funding in this area, and how attitudes towards cyclists can be changed.
