"Bringing Des Home Will Give Him The Very Best Chance Of Recovery"

Many people have struggled with being unable to visit their loved ones in hospital during the pandemic, and the Vallely family are no exception. Tara Vallely is trying to raise €400,000 to refit her home for her husband Des, who was seriously injured in a cycling accident earlier this year. Des, who is now in rehab, couldn't see his children for six months because of COVID-19 restrictions. Tara now wants to move him home, as the only alternative is long-term hospitalisation or nursing home care, where his family would not be allowed to visit. Tara joined us on The Last Word to talk about her 'Walk Des Home' fundraising appeal. You can donate through GoFundMe.
