Breakfast Briefing 16th March 2021- Professor Conor Deasy

Falls from less than 2 meters, road traffic collisions and burns are the cause of 70 per cent of life-threatening injuries in children. A 6 year audit of paediatric traumas shows 5 per cent of seriously injured patients are children, with 1 in 4 of those under 2 years of age. Almost a half of the injuries happen in the home, while nearly two thirds are to the head, arms or legs. Clinical Lead on the Paediatric Trauma Audit, Professor Conor Deasy, joined Shane Beatty on Breakfast Briefing: [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/03/16070955/conor-deasy.mp3"][/audio]
