PLAN B LISTEN BACK: BENEE ON HER VIRAL TIKTOK HIT SUPALONELY

Benee New Zealand singer/song writer Benee started out doing covers on soundcloud and writing in her bedroom. Fast forward a few years later to 2019, and she walked away with 4 New Zealand Music Awards, including Best Solo Artist, Best Breakthrough Artist and Best Pop Artist. Now she has gone global in part thanks to her single Supalonely going viral on Tik Tok with even the likes of JLo and Madison Beer dancing to it. Benee told Sarina, on Saturday's Plan B, that she has been blown away by her success. She didn't even have a speech written for the NZ Music awards, but her manager did make her take a list of people she should thank. She also shared that public speaking scares her but she loves being able to get up and perform in front of audiences. Supalonely has blown up on Tik Tok but Benee said, “I didn’t even completely understand Tik Tok until a couple of months ago”. She's now hooked but you won't see her doing the Supalonely dance any time soon.
