Did Banks Deliberately Mislead The Government On Mortgage Payment Break Interest Charges?

Banks have been accused of deliberately misleading the Government regarding interest charges on mortgage payment breaks. The Central Bank governor has confirmed that banks are not required to charge this interest, contradicting claims made by the banks in a meeting with then Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in May. Charlie Weston, personal finance editor of the Irish Independent, joined us to discuss this and what the future holds for credit unions as members stop borrowing during the current crisis.
