The aftermath of troops leaving Iraq

10 years ago, in a speech from the Oval Office, US President Barack Obama declared that the American combat mission in Iraq had ended.  He said: “Operation Iraqi Freedom is over, and the Iraqi people now have lead responsibility for the security of their country.”  So was it the right move?   Kieran was joined on Tuesday's edition of the Hard Shoulder by Colonel Tim Collins, who is a former Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion of the Royal Irish Regiment during the Iraq war; and also by Denis Halliday, who is former Assistant UN Secretary General to Iraq.
