After Limerick Students Break Lockdown Rules, Cork Residents Fear "Magaluf-Style Summer"

More than 50 fines have been issued by Gardaí after they were called to break up a street party attended by students in Castletroy, Limerick last night. Videos emerged on social media of widespread anti-social behaviour, while cocaine estimated to be worth €17,500 was also seized. A number of arrests were made. Cork residents living close to UCC are now calling for new laws to crack down on landlords renting out summer party houses to students during the pandemic. Harry McCann, UCC student and editor of Trendster.ie, and Catherine Clancy, chair of the Magazine Road and Surrounding Areas Residents Association, joined us to discuss this.
