Being an adult living with parents - what is the impact?

A new report has shown that the number of Irish people aged between 25 and 29 living with their parents grew at one of the highest rates in Europe between 2007 and 2017. The report is by EU agency Eurofound, and it shows the rate of people in this age bracket increased 11.2 percentage points to 47.2 per cent. This compares with a 2 per cent increase across the EU over the same period. What is it like for young adults living with their parents?  And indeed, what is it like for parents to have their adult children under their roofs? Stephanie Regan is a clinical psychotherapist, and Niamh Hourigan is a sociologist and Vice President of Academic Affairs in the Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.  They discussed the issue with Ivan on Wednesday evening's edition of the Hard Shoulder.
