"100 years ago we were shooting animals on edge of extinction to populate the museum, now it's about biodiversity"

Now it's time for a new series "Henry's End of Summer", what to do with the kids for the next few weeks. Why not take the family for free to the Natural History Museum Dublin. A Victorian museum with a biodiversity modern twist. 150 years ago animals were shot to order for the museum, now sea turtles who are washed up on Irish shores after eating plastic are on display. The museum now boasts "A Wonder Cabinet"  inspired by Victorian ‘cabinets of curiosity’ but a fully interactive space which could be the future of museums. Contributions from Lynn Scarff Director of National Museum of Ireland, Nigel Monahan Keeper of the NMI - Natural History) and Siobhan Piece (Head of Education, NMI) For more check out Museum.ie
