More Than 100 People On Pandemic Payments Have Them Cut Because They Travelled Abroad

More than 100 people have had their Pandemic Unemployment Payment cut because they travelled abroad. The Department of Social Protection confirmed in a statement that 104 cases of the payment had been stopped following airport checks. It also said that the payment is not given to people going on holiday abroad or going through the 14-day quarantine period. Liam Herrick, executive director of the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, joined us to discuss this. [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2020/07/27173750/LW-Pandemic-Payments.mp3"][/audio]
