Weekend Breakfast Cadbury Soundtown June Winner Is.... Kilmacthomas in Waterford!

Weekend Breakfast with Alison Curtis is on the hunt for Ireland's Soundest Town, with thanks to our generous friends at Cadbury. Each month we will ask people around Ireland to tell us a little bit about why their hometown is the Soundest Town in Ireland. And this month we are delighted to announce the May winner of Soundtown is Kilmacthomas in Waterford! #WeekendBreakfast is thrilled to announce #Kilmacthomas (Waterford) as the June winner of our #SoundTown campaign! The town describes itself as the 'Heart of the Greenway' and the people are what give the town its pride. Nominated by Helen Power.@AlisonTodayFM @CadburyIreland pic.twitter.com/1BZSmFZa3C — Today FM (@TodayFM) June 27, 2020 Listen back to the winning moment by pressing the play button at the top of the screen. Nominated by Helen Power, Kilmacthomas describes itself as the 'Heart of the Greenway' and the people are what give the town its pride. Since the covid restrictions, the community set up a Volunteer Network (of over 30 people) who help those in need with shopping and to socialise with cocooners feeling lonely. The community's mental health has been at the forefront in dealing with the fight against coronavirus and their local Sunflower Shop is providing professional counselling services over the phone for those feeling low, lonely or isolated. If you want to nominate your town head HERE! Weekend Breakfast with Alison Curtis, Saturdays and Sundays from 8am!
