The Leaving Cert Has Been Cancelled - What Happens Next?

This year's Leaving Cert exams have officially been cancelled, bringing an end to weeks of uncertainty. Students will instead receive calculated grades for each subject. They will also be given the option of sitting the exams at a later date, when it is safe to do so. Education Minister Joe McHugh joined us on The Last Word to fully explain what will happen. We also spoke to Michelle O'Kelly, Principal of Mercy Secondary School in Inchicore, Dr Kevin Williams of the School of Education at DCU and Professor Gary Murphy of the School of Law and Government at DCU about how the new system might work.
