COVID-19: What Is The Latest Travel Advice?
Irish Independent Travel Editor Pól Ó Conghaile joined Alison on Weekend Breakfast to give great travel advice for people due for departure.
The best starting point for any travelers is; check with your airline, tour operator and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) travel advisories before travelling.
The DFA is now advising people to exercise “a high degree of caution” before deciding to travel to other EU States, according to Tánaiste and Foreign Affairs Minister, Simon Coveney.
The Department this week advised against all non-essential travel to Spain, noting "a significant number of cases" with the highest incidences in Madrid, Vitoria and Labastida in the Basque Country, Catalonia and the Rioja region. The advice also includes the Canary and Balearic Islands.

Citizens are also advised not to travel to Italy, which has been on lock down since March 9th.
He also detailed updates from the airlines and cruise liners and their cancellation fees, as well as advice for insurance and bookings.
